Courses offered in different WINGS
Cambridge Wing
a. Grades JR 1 – JR3: Students have to study all of the following nine subjects:
Maths
Urdu
English
General Science
History
Geography
Islamiyat
Computer Studies
Arts
b. GCE O Level : An O-level qualification is available in a wide range of subjects covering the whole curriculum. Within the available subject areas there is often a choice of several syllabi .The following subjects are compulsory in GCE O Level: -
English
Urdu
Islamiyat
Mathematics
Pakistan Studies
In addition to the compulsory subjects, three or more subjects are required to be studied out of the following subjects:
Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer studies, Chemistry, Physics, Principles of Accounts, Economics, Business Studies
c. GCE A Level : The following subjects are offered in GCE A Level:
Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computing, Math’s, Accounting, Economics, Business Studies, General paper
For each subject in O/A Level about 170 hours have been allocated. Most syllabi demand the ability to recall basic information and principles, but 'higher skills' also need to be developed, such as problem solving or the demonstrative application of knowledge and understanding.
POLICY FOR SELECTION OF SUBJECTS
1. O LEVEL
a. In the beginning of academic session of class O Level I, students may opt for the subject combination's offered by the college, however, when they have opted for a specific combination students willl not be allowed to change any of their subjects.
b. Change of subject if possible can only be allowed up to 7 working days after the commencement of session.
2. A LEVEL
a. All students must take 3 A level subjects, depending upon their O Level grade in English, they can also opt for G.P. If a student wants to take a 4th subject he / she is allowed to do so, if there is no clash with other subjects.
b. The subjects chosen should reflect the interests of the student and the requirements of the university or college to which the student is intending to take admission.
c. Change of subject will not be allowed once the student is admitted.
d. Change of subject is permitted only on the understanding that such changes are teacher initiated and teacher's recommendations for course changes should be made for valid reasons, such as an inability on the part of the student to succeed in the course.
e. The college reserves the right to cancel a subject option for which there are very few students
Boys & Girls Wing
Classes VI - VIII
Core subject: English, Urdu, Maths, General Science
Non-Core subject: Islamiat, Arabic, Social Studies, General Arts and Computer
Secondary Classes: English, Urdu, Maths, Chemistry, Biology/Computer, Physics, Islamiat and Pakistan Studies.
Classes IX - XII
Pre-Medical Group: Compulsory Subjects along with Physics, Chemistry, Biology
Pre-Engineering Group: Compulsory Subjects along with Physics, Chemistry, Maths
General Group: Compulsory Subjects along with Physics, Maths, Computer Science
Commerce Group: Compulsory Subjects along with Accounting, Business Maths, Principle of Commerce, Principle of Economics,
Commercial Geography, Statistics and Banking
